Due to the perishable nature of our cheeses we only ship priority 1-3 day, depending on your location and current temperatures. We ship perishable goods with ice packs and insulating liners. We only ship Monday and Tuesday for orders that will take two days to arrive, and on Wednesday for orders that will take one day to arrive. This ensures that if a delay occurs, perishable goods will not sit with a carrier over the weekend. We cannot have packages delivered on the weekend.
During warm summer months, or to locations with very warm temperatures, we may insist on overnight delivery to guarantee freshness. We understand this makes shipping our cheeses expensive, however we want them to be delicious when they arrive.
It's ok if your package arrives slightly warm to the touch with a thawed ice pack. Cheese is preserved milk and is used to hanging out in temperatures warmer than your refrigerator. If your ice pack is thawed, the cheese doesn't feel cool to the touch, or the cheese wrapping paper is a bit damp, place it in the fridge to cool down/dry out and check it out later.
If it doesn't look delicious, take a photo and send us an email at store@landmarkcreamery.com. If cheese was delayed due to a shipping carrier mishap or delay, we can work with you on a refund or possibly a reship.
We can't refund or reship packages that went awry because of address entered incorrectly, hungry neighborhood dogs or squirrels, or recipients that were out of town or didn't open a package. We strongly advise you to let people know if you are sending them a perishable gift to ensure that someone is available to receive it.
Some cheeses have a stronger aroma than others, but after opening the package and refrigerating the cheese, the smell will lessen and you can focus more on the taste.
Shipping perishable goods is tricky, especially with inclement weather and carriers experiencing staffing shortages. But we will do our best to ensure that you are happy.
