Our inaugural Victory Cheese Box features some of our favorite women cheesemakers (and business owners, and all around strong, creative amazing individuals).
Charuth makes farmstead goat milk cheeses in Nebraska. Alise uses her family farm's cow milk to craft a variety of cheeses in Minnesota. Sam, owner of Boxcarr Cheese, uses milk from small family farms to make mouth-watering cheeses in North Carolina. All are award-winning and you won't find this collection at your grocery store.
Victory Cheese is a nation-wide movement organized by people and businesses passionate about American-made cheese and keeping cheesemakers afloat during this challenging time. Look for Victory Cheese boxes from your favorite maker or shop.
We will be donating $5 from every box to a local non-profit called Maroon Calabash. Maroon Calabash is a community of Radical Black Doulas doing invaluable work, strengthening Black communities throughout Wisconsin by advocating for reproductive justice.
In your box you will find:
1/2 lb of Redhead Creamery St. Anthony, a young, washed-rind cheese with meaty undertones and hints of cured salami
1/3 lb of Dutch Girl Creamery's gorgeous Rosa Maria, a clean, aged goat milk cheese with a rind that reminds us of a pretty sea urchin.
3/4 lb of Cottonbell from Boxcarr Cheese, a bloomy-rind cow milk cheese that is rich and creamy with notes of cultured butter and mushrooms.
1/2 lb of Pecora Nocciola from Landmark Creamery, a firm sheep milk cheese that tastes like toasted nuts and browned butter, perfect for eating straight up or grating over pasta.
